Nnenna
Nwabueze-Okonta popularly known as Merit returns 21 years after her popular
movie titled LIVING IN BONDAGE where she acted with Kenneth Okonkwo as Andy. She
is back after starring in an Igbo primitive film titled, “ Ndi Gbo Ochie” shot
recently in Asaba Delta State.
The actress still morns her husband who died on March 7 2016 as they
plan to celebrate their 22nd marriage anniversary which would have
been on March 15, 2016.
Speaking
to nollywood media, she said…. “It has
not been easy, but I am coping with my new status. It’s painful losing a loved
one to the pangs of death,”
She
added that she is trying not to depend on anyone since her husband was buried
and the only refuge she can get is through acting again.
“It’s
a good thing that before his demise, I staged a comeback to the industry. It’s
like a refuge for me. Instead of staying at home and feeling loss, I decided to
hit the location to meet people and feel happy. It provides me a source of
income. Being a widow comes with so many challenges. Friends will abandon you,
but my family is there for me.”
It
is only someone who has lost a loved one would understand how painful and heart
breaking it is. I ray the almighty Father in Heaven comfort you and your
family.. Amen
